It is the largest and most populous city in Switzerland and the capital of the canton of Zürich. It is located at the northwestern tip of Lake Zürichis, 408 m above sea level and about 30 kilometres north of the Alps and south of dense woods. It is a transportation hub having the largest and busiest railway station and airport in the country. With 70% of the visitors to the city using the tram or bus, public transport is extremely popular in Switzerland. The Old town extends on the two sides of the "Limmat River", which streams from the lake, running northwards from the outset and afterwards continuously transforming into a bend toward the west.

Zürich is named as the city with the highest quality of life on the planet separated from being the wealthiest city in Europe. The official language here is German, while communicated in the language is a nearby variation of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect. Currency used here is the Euro and Swiss Francs. Zurich is located in a temperate climate zone with four different seasons. Winter/snowfall starting November till February the temperatures occasionally drop below zero. In the hot summer, the recorded temperature exceeds 30°C.
