Rome
Country: Italy.
Rome (Italian: Roma) with a history of over 28 centuries is presently the capital of Italy, located in the central-western side of the Italian peninsula. It has many important historical and cultural spots. Vatican City: the smallest country in the world, is enclosed within Rome. Although the attractions are scattered across Rome, the most important and famous ones are concentrated in the centre of the ancient city. The Vatican Museum and the Roman Colosseum are among the world's most visited tourist destinations. The city is an exhilarating blend of historic culture, awe-inspiring art and a vibrant nightlife. It is also the capital of the Christian world and a holy place for Catholics to pilgrimage. Rome indeed was not built in a day.
The best time to visit Rome is from October to April when most of the tourist crowds have dissipated and room rates are lower. Although you need a warm jacket, the weather during this time hardly ever dips below freezing. For warmer weather – without throngs of tourists and the sweltering humidity – come in May or September. It has a typical Mediterranean climate with dry summers and rainy winters, the average annual temperature is about 15.5 °C.
